What's happening...
I wanted to update you on the latest developments on health care options for state employees and retirees.
Tuesday, the bi-partisan Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability directed the state to enter into emergency 90-day contracts with health care providers while lawsuits and legislation continue to work their way through the system.
We have learned that the state has reached agreements on emergency contracts with Health Alliance, HealthLink OAP and PersonalCare OAP, but has yet to reach an agreement with Humana.
The state’s enrollment deadline remains this Friday, June 17. If you are a member of Health Alliance or HealthLink, and have not submitted your enrollment paperwork yet, you don’t have to do anything. You’ll automatically be re-enrolled with your current provider on July 1.
If you’ve already submitted your enrollment paperwork to the state, and you want to change it back to your current provider or to another option, you will need to submit new benefit enrollment paperwork to the state. The deadline remains FRIDAY, June 17.
If you’ve already sent your enrollment paperwork to the state, and you want to keep the plan you’ve already enrolled in, you don’t have to do anything. You’ll be enrolled in the plan July 1.
If you’re waiting on Humana, I suggest you keep an eye on the news, or keep in touch with my office to see if an agreement is reached.

We're working on our next edition of the e-newsletter. I can't believe how many people have registered to receive these lately! I get notices about quite a few people registering every day. If you haven't done so yet, click here to register for them so you don't miss any future messages.
When you receive messages or e-newsletters from me, please forward them to all your friends, neighbors and co-workers. Some information I send won't be available anywhere else, so making sure information gets out to as many people as possible is important.
I think it's great this site is working the way it's supposed to, as an open form of communication between constituents and an elected official. Keep it up! Write to me through the contact form. Tell your friends about the information you find helpful here. Let them know that I do my best to answer each and every email I get.
To new site visitors... welcome! You'll find up-to-date stories in our News section from local and statewide news sources. In the Links section, we've provided great links to other websites we think you'll find helpful, including Illinois state agencies, local city and county offices, and district-wide tourist attractions.
To our regular visitors... we're updating information every day to ensure you stay informed about what's happening at home and in the State House. Keep coming back to see what's new.
I thank you for your support and look forward to continuing my efforts on your behalf.
Sincerely,
